Penny has directed Gilbert & Sullivan and other Victorian Operas in Seattle and Bellevue for more than 30 years.  She is as fond of Gilbert’s humor as she is of Sullivan’s arias and she crafts her shows to underscore that appreciation.  She founded Peccadillo Players in 1977 and produced over 50 shows with that company, including the first full scale theatrical production at the Meydenbauer Theatre when it  opened in 1994.

In 2005, she founded the non-profit, Eastside Lyric Theater to continue her own unique interpretation of the G&S Canon.
